God Is Not Completely Unlike Us

There was a European theologian named Karl Barth, who taught (among other things) that God is "wholly other" from us.  How he knew this, I have no idea. Barth's philosophical Hellenism, this claim that God is "wholly other" from us humans -- that God is so alien there are no shared points of commonality between His reasoning and our reasoning, His words and our words -- is a direct attack on the Bible. Everyone who adopts it finds their faith poisoned by skepticism, because a God who is "wholly other" is a god who cannot be known at all.

God is not "wholly other" from us, because Moses tells us in Genesis that God made us in His image. God's image includes a lot of things, but it does include the ability to reason, logic, and language.  If God was "wholly other" than us, then He could never have become man.
