Our History
In 1989 the Addington family felt led of the Lord to start a Bible study in their home. They came from an Evangelical Free Church background. That was how the Georgetown Evangelical Free Church was started! There was a vision for a church that had a stronger Bible-teaching and preaching emphasis.
That home Bible-study grew rapidly, and soon the congregation was meeting in rented facilities around town. Rob and Susan Black and their family arrived soon after, and Rob became the church's first full-time pastor. Property was purchased along Ironworks Pike Road, and God enabled the church to erect its first building.
After a decade of faithful service, Rob Black was led by the Lord to a new church, and Jack Brooks and his family came in 2001. Jack is a graduate of Columbia Biblical Seminary in South Carolina. He had a background in education, as a teacher. The Brooks also participated in church-planting, and Christian school-teaching in Houston, Texas.
In 2012, the church changed its name to Ironworks Pike Community Church.
