2015:  Trust In The Power of Prayer

1/2/2015

Elijah stopped the rain for three and a half years in Israel, not because he was a prophet, but because he prayed with faith (James 5:16-18). Don't forget the social setting of Elijah's prayers.  He wasn't just showing off.

The drought Elijah caused, and the withering lack of material and human resources that resulted, greatly hampered the plans of evil King Ahab and his witch-queen Jezebel. Elijah was so disruptive to Ahab that Ahab called him the "troubler of Israel" (though in reality Ahab was the cause of all their trouble).

You can disrupt the enemies of the Lord by your prayers. Trust not in the power of politics! Trust in God, and in the power of prayer.
