Secular libertarianism is the real enemy. But are we Christians even capable of mentally engaging it? Some do try to give a defense of the hope we have within us. But a lot of American Christian churches have spent the last 50 years preaching utter gibberish about financial prosperity, laughing revivals, rolling revivals, end-times Y2K paranoia, and little kids taking rainbow-rides to heaven. Meanwhile, various famous celebrity-pastors (what an ignoble phrase!) of many different denominations further discredited Christ by crashing and burning in sex and financial scandals of every kind.
Maybe American Christianity needs to clean up our own internal household first, then we'll be better able to persuade a secular/libertarian world around us.
