I was trained to believe that the miraculous gifts of the Spirit were withdrawn at the end of the first century, but I do not believe that now, and I have not believed that for some time. My belief in all the gifts causes some consternation. The conclusion some draw is that such a belief invariably leads to gullibility, demonic deception, and the corruption of the local church by false prophets. These conclusions are untrue, and I would like to explain why they are untrue, as well as describe how we can easily recognize false gifts.
